Please note that this site is in its very early stages of testing and most of it is incomplete.  I hope to go 'live' in January 2013, so please come back then when the first GeekZine will be complete and more projects will be documented.

Thanks, Martyn (aka GeekTeacher)

Welcome

Welcome to the home of GeekZino, a low-cost Arduino-compatible microcontroller board which you can build yourself either on breadboard or soldered stripboard.  The GeekZino owes its existence to the Shrimp by Cefn Hoile which first sowed the seeds in my mind for building an ecosystem around a programmable educational microcontroller system.

The GeekZino is one of the core components (along with the Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Lego Mindstorns kits) of the GeekZine Project which will have three phases:

The first phase is the production of GeekZine, an online e-zine with educational information and tutorials about using the GeekZino, Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Lego Mindstorms kits for physical computing projects. A preliminary draft version of GeekZine is available for download here and for online viewing below:

The second phase will involve making component kits available which provide all the parts needed for each GeekZine project at barely more than cost prices (subject to demand).

The third phase will be the organisation and running of educational clubs and courses for kids, hobbyists and teachers.
